Washington Capitals Win Game Two 6-2 Against Tampa Bay

The Washington Capitals have pulled off some sweet magic and crushed the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-2 in Game Two and now have a 2-0 lead over the Lightning.

The Capitals started off with a bad first period, but they bounced back and finished strong. The Capitals did score the first goal of the game after Tom Wilson deflected a puck from Matt Niskanen to give the Capitals a 1-0 lead. Wilson now has four points in his last five games.

The Capitals feel behind though letting Tampa Bay score twice while short-handed after taking two dumb penalties.

The Capitals didn’t let a 2-1 Tampa Bay lead hold them back. The Capitals came out swinging and scored three goals in the second period. Davante Smith-Pelly started the scoring spree followed up by Lars Eller and Evgeny Kuznetsov to give the Capitals a 4-2 lead after two period of hockey.

The Capitals started the third period just like how they played in the second by scoring two more goals. Alex Ovechkin started the third period on a two on one opportunity with a slam dunk pass from Kuznetsov. Moments later Brett Connolly sealed the deal giving the Capitals a 6-2 win.

Braden Holtby has another lights out game stopping 33 shots. He played like how a true former Veznia Trophy played and out played Tampa’s Andre Vasilevsky.

First star of the game was Alex Ovechkin. He played like how an NHL captain plays finishing the night with a goal and a assist with five hits and a blocked shot. He has been great in the playoffs and has been the MVP of the playoffs.

The Capitals now have a 2-0 lead and will be coming back home to the Capitals One Arena and hope to sweep Tampa! Let’s go Caps!
