Washington Capitals Sign Axel Fjällby to Three-Year Entry Level Contract Starting 2018-2019 Season
The Washington Capitals have signed 2016 fifth round pick Axel Fjällby to a three-year entry level contract starting in the 2018-2019 season.
Axel is a Swedish winger who played this year for the Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish Elite League. Axel had 16 points in 42 games and was a key member of Sweden’s Junior team for the World Juniors. In the World Juniors he appeared in seven games producing four points.
Axel is a 6’1 185 pound left winger who has been scouted out as a speedy player with a great shot, and will be a great addition to the Hershey Bears to start the year. The Capitals look forward bringing him into the rookie camp and see him develop as a player. Axel career stats are below.
