Washington Capitals re-claim forward Nathan Walker from Edmonton

Forward Nathan Walker is back in the Capitals organization after Washington re-claimed him off waivers Wednesday afternoon. He will join the team in Arizona, before the Caps game against the Arizona Coyotes on tomorrow night.

The NHL’s holiday roster freeze has already gone into effect, and though Walker was placed on waivers before the freeze, he can’t be sent down to the Hershey until after the freeze is over on December 28 at 12:01 a.m. It’s still unclear if the Washington will still re-assign Walker at that point, but unless another team put in a claim on him during this most recent waivers period, Walker shouldn’t need waivers again until he has been in the NHL for 30 days or played 10 games.
