Washington Capitals Lose to Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1

The Washington Capitals have lose a tough game tonight against a good Columbus Blue Jackets team tonight in DC 2-1. Despite having key defensive players out of the lineup tonight the young defense squad played very well still.

Jonas Siegenthaler made his NHL debut tonight seeing 12:13 minutes of ice time with two blocked shots, three hits, one shot on net and was a positive zero in plus/minus. Jonas played a great game in his debut he showed off his impressive skating, and made smart plays under pressure.

Braden Holtby unfortunately has to add a lost to his stat sheet this year, but played an amazing game still stopping 34 shots, and made a lot of great saves when his team needed him tonight.

Matt Niskanen was the lone goal scorer scoring on the power play on the top line in John Carlson’s absence.

The Capitals lost against a great defensive team in the Blue Jackets, and the Capitals where missing Brooks Orpik, John Carlson and Tom Wilson due to his suspension and they still played a great game. The Capitals played with a very young defensive squad, and still looked good.

The Capitals might have lost, but showed a lot of promise for the future with Maddison Bowey playing a good game along with Jonas Siegenthaler in his NHL debut. Goaltending was great the Capitals just lost a tough game against a good team.
