Washington Capitals Draft Riley Sutter In The Third Round

The Washington Capitals have drafted right-winger Riley Sutter with there third round selection. The hockey famous Sutter name keeps growing. His father Ron played 18 season in the NHL, and his uncles Darryl, Duane, Brent, Rich and Brian have all played in the NHL. Riley’s cousin Brandon currently plays for the Vancouver Canucks.

Riley is a big power-forward listed at 6’3 205 pounds. Sutter recently played in the WHL for the Everett Silvertips and produced 53 points in 62 games this season. Sutter is more than likely to return next season to the Silvertips to improve his game.

Scouts have said Sutter plays very hard tough game, and has great speed for a player his size. Sutter was rated the 80th best prospect going into the draft and is compared to a Blake Wheeler style of play.
