Washington Capitals Defeat Las Vegas Golden Knights 5-2

The Washington Capitals have defeated the Las Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 and it feels like summer all over again! The Capitals dominates the Golden Knights just like they did in the Stanley Cup while Caps fans chanted “back to back” during the last minute of the game.

The Capitals looked confident and strong tonight. Evgeny Kuznetsov and the top line played like they where the best line in the NHL.

Kuznetsov produced four points (1 goal 3 assist) not a big deal, and Alex Ovechkin scored two goals as well. Ovechkin goals put him at 611 total career goals, and passed Bobby Hull on the all-time list.

Nicklas Backstrom also had a great game scoring a big goal on the power play batting the puck out of the air from a Kuznetsov pass, and to top it off TJ Oshie sealed the deal scoring an empty net goal.

Braden Holtby played another great game going into full Holtbeast mode stopping 29 shots, and coming up with huge saves at the end of the game to secure the lead and the win.

The Capitals looked like a team on a mission tonight. Fast, confident and strong the way they played all game dominating the game from all aspects of the game. This team is hungry and wants another cup.

It’s a shame the Capitals can’t play the Golden Knights every game because DC owns Vegas!
