Washington Capitals Beat New Jersey Devils 6-3

The Washington Capitals continue to stay red hot and beat the New Jersey Devils 6-3 in hard fought game in D.C.

the Capitals has to overcome adversity killing a ton of penalties including a five minute major to Tom Wilson that got him ejected in the second period for interference. It was a questionable call that defiantly wasn’t liked in Washington, but when you watch the tape you can clearly see Wilson trying to get out of the way of New Jersey Devils forward Brett Seney.

Seney was skating backwards and collided into Wilson. Wilson clearly didn’t try to hit him, but the referee’s see a guy injured (who came-back and played the third period) and Tom Wilson around they throw the book at him for who he is.

Despite the bad calls the Capitals killed 13 minutes worth of penalties and ended the the night at 100% on the penalty kill.

The Capitals started the night scoring first in the first three minutes of the game with Alex Ovechkin delivered a great pass to Nicklas Backstrom for a 1-0 lead. Later Tom Wilson scored a goal after Devils goalie Keith Kinkaid fumbled the puck behind the net to continue Wilson’s goal and point streak.

The Capitals has a high scoring period in the third scoring four goals. Two from Nicklas Backstrom who got his second career hat-rick, a goal from Andre Burakovsky and one from Alex Ovechkin.

Braden Holtby played another stealer game stopping 33 shots, and was lights out when the team was shorthanded. This was Holtby’s ninth win of the season, and is playing like a Veznia Trophy goalie.
