Travis Boyd recalled to Washington, ends streak of 176 straight games played for Hershey

The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Travis Boyd, the Hershey Bears 2016-17 MVP and a consistent player over the last two seasons. Boyd has 20 points in 23 games, while his 17 assists rank fifth overall in the AHL so far this season. Boyd skated in the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic in Lehigh-Valley, and was named to the 2016-17 AHL Second All-Star Team. Travis will wear number 72 for Washington and has a good chance in playing in tonight’s game against the San Jose Sharks at home in place of injured forward Chandler Stephenson.
