If you mention the word diva when discussing the WWE, one name that immediately comes to mind is Torrie Wilson. The former fitness champ took the WWE be storm in the early 2000’s with an amazing look and a personality that screamed “FUN”. The WWE has announced that Wilson will join it’s Hall of Fame this year along side D-Generation X members Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Sean Waltman, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and Chyna, plus the Honky Tonk Man. Her induction is sure to spark debate among wrestling fans on whether she is or isn’t Hall of Fame worthy.

The former fitness and beauty queen became involved in wrestling when her boyfriend attended a WCW show and she accompanied him back stage and a number of WCW stars were enamored with the stunning Wilson. She debuted in the WCW in February of 1999 as Samantha and became involved in story lines involving the NWO, The Filthy Animals, and Billy Kidman before being released by the WCW in December of 2000.

By June of 2001, she had joined the WWE as part of the invasion angle, portraying one of Vince McMahon’s affairs. Over the next seven years she became THE Diva in WWE’s suddenly very popular Diva Division. What she lacked in wrestling ability, she more than made up for with looks and personality. This was evident by the huge pop that she received night in and night out.

Throughout her run, her feuds with Jamie Noble & Nidia, Sable and Dawn Marie were prominent on SmackDown from 2003 – 2005. During that time, she was often involved in gimmick matches, such as evening gown matches, lingerie matches, and pillow fight matches. As the WWE started to migrate to more family friendly content, Wilson was phased out and ultimately released from her contract in 2008. Recently, she has returned to the WWE for special occasions such as the Raw 25th Anniversary Special and 2018’s Royal Rumble.

In her personal life, Wilson dated and eventually married on-screen boyfriend Billy Kidman in 2003 before divorcing in 2008. In 2011 she began a highly public relationship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez that lasted roughly four years from 2011-2015. In honor of her induction to the WWE Hall of Fame, let’s take a look at her most memorable moments.
