Torres to stay with Chelsea

untitledChelsea FC manager has told Sky Sports that striker Fernando Torres will not being going anywhere he will stay with Chelsea. So far this summer Chelsea have signed Diego Costa, and Didier Drogba who will be replacing Samuel Eto’o, Demba Ba, and Romelu Lukaku.

Some sources say that Chelsea will also be looking at PSG striker Edinson Cavani, which would really lower striker Torres down on the depth chart.

Torres who barely made the Spanish National Team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup played miserably last season scoring only 5 goals wont be seeing much playing time this upcoming season playing being such great players who will bring lots of great play and lots of goals to Chelsea which Torres didn’t do much of last year. Chelsea has also signed Cesc Fabregas, and Filipe Luis and also has Thibaut Courtois and Petr Cech battling for the first goalkeeper position. We could see him play a good amount against teams such as Leicester, Burnley, who wont be great teams in the Premier League this year.

So why did manager Jose Mourinho keep Torres? Mourinho said “three strikers is fundamental in a squad and we have three strikers. Fernando [Torres], Didier [Drogba], and Diego [Costa], so one of them is not going for sure”. So this season the chances that Fernando Torres will see much playing time is very little considering who he must pass on the depth charts.
