Tom Wilson Suspension Reduced 14 games

Guess who’s back?! Tom Wilson can return to the lineup tonight after his suspension got reduced to 14 games after meeting with a neutral arbitrator.

The Capitals play the Minnesota Wild tonight and is eligible to play tonight. This suspension reduction also saved Wilson $378,048 with his salary.

This was Wilson’s fourth suspension in his last 105 games (including preseason, and post-season) that the league calls a repeat offender, and a lot of NHL fans are upset about this decision, but Capital fans are not!

The decision is questionable since the neutral arbitrator was Shyam Das who was fired by Major League Baseball in 2012 for overturning Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun’s suspension for testing positive for HGH. This was also the first time in sports history an athlete had a suspension reduced for HGH, so Das is no stranger to controversy.

Operation free Willy 4.0 is accomplished and Capitals fans are excited to have him back. Next question is who will be out of the lineup tonight?

Either Nic Dowd, Travis Boyd or Dimtrji Jaskin will be a healthy scratch tonight with Wilson returning.
