Three straight wins for Gausman

200px-Kevin_Gausman_(cropped)The Baltimore Orioles have to be thrilled with the way Kevin Gausman has pitched since being recalled. Gausman has won three straight games and has only allowed two runs in those three starts. Gausman is a rookie and I expect him to have his bumps in the roads but he is on fire right now and has earned a spot in the rotation. I said here that Gausman should stay in the rotation, and he is proving me right.

Today’s win against the Tampa Bay Rays might have been the most impressive of the bunch. Gausman had trouble early in the first inning and through over 30 pitches and had the bases loaded. Gausman did not get correct strike calls from the umpire Pat Hoberg but still got out of the inning. After the first inning Gausman made it look easy and shut down the Rays for another five innings.

Gausman has great stuff and can throw strikes, the more he develops as a pitcher the better for the Orioles. Gausman is only going to get better but these three games should show us how he will pitch in the future. Gausman did not get rattled today which is a major key to success for any athlete, he showed major pose.

Congrats to Gausman on his first three winning starts, I hope we see much more of them.
