The Washington Capitals recall Travis Boyd and Madison Bowey from Hershey

The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Travis Boyd and defenseman Madison Bowey from the Hershey Bears.

Boyd, made his NHL debut against the San Jose Sharks back on December fourth and has played in seven total games for the Washington Capitals this season. Boyd earned one assist is those seven games but it was a big one. A nice spin-o-rama move on Alex Ovechkin’s 601st goal of his NHL career. Boyd ranks third on the Hershey Bears in goals with 15,  and second in assists with 32, as well as second in points with 47, despite the NHL recalls. Travis Boyd has played in 61 games for the Bears.

Bowey, started the season in Hershey before an early recall to Washington where he then played in 51 games with the Capitals this season, posting 12 assists. In the nine games with Hershey this season, Bowey had eight points (two goals, six assists).

This could potentially be the last time either of these two players see Hershey. Good luck to both on the recalls to Washington.

The Caps return to the ice Thursday night in Washington to take on the Nashville Predators.

The Hershey Bears are on the ice tonight in Wilkes-Barre to take on the rival Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins at 7:05.
