The Redskins and Matt Ioannidis agree on three year 21.75 million dollar extension

The Redskins have locked up defensive end Matt Iaonnidis with a three year 21.75 million dollar contract, fourteen million of which is guaranteed.

The twenty-five year old out of Temple can earn up to three million dollars in incentives. Ioannidis was drafted by the Redskins in the fifth round of the 2016 draft. Ioannidis was cut and placed on the practice squad during his rookie year, but has worked to steadily improve since.

In his three seasons with the team he has appeared in 38 games, including 14 last season with nine starts. 2018 was his most productive season to date as he produced 7.5 quarterback sacks and 11 quarterback hits, despite playing on only 42% of snaps.
