The No.19 Lady Terps trap the No.17 Lady Bears

Coming off a win against Davidson, The No.19 Maryland lady terps took a west coast trip to visit the No.17 Baylor Lady Bears. Looking to continue building off a win where four Terps were in double figures lead Diamond Miller. The Baylor Bears held off a tough comeback from SMU 58-55, and Maryland took care of business defeating a ranked Baylor Team.

Defeating Baylor was the first true test of this Maryland team coming into this season with a lot of questions but there are still some nagging habits that showed in the game that Maryland must fix.

The Keys to Victory!

Three Point Shooting Continues to be a struggle for the Bears

Baylor as a cohesive unit did not have the greatest shooting performance, this has been a weakness for the Nikki Cohen lead bears this season. Coming into the game Baylor was shooting about 30% the last three games and has not shot close to 40% so far this season. Baylor was 1 of 17 from three sunday, which helped Maryland take a 10-point lead into halftime.

Maryland’s Defense Continues to shine!

The defense was a factor in Baylor having a woeful shooting performance, whether it forced Baylor to change their shots Coach Frese made the necessary adjustments on the defensive side of the ball such as man to man different from zone defense.

Too Many Cookies dropped on the floor!

I know what you are thinking cookies dropping on the floor but it is true that Lady Terps have an issue with keeping the cookies on the pan. Eyes do not, and numbers do not. For example, in the win against Davidson we turned the ball over 21 times, and Sunday against Baylor, the Terps turned the ball over 19 times which will not help Maryland win any games against ranked oppenents.

The Lady Terps return home to face the Depaul University this Friday 11:00am on fox sports 2!
