The Maryland Terrapins seek revenge against Wisconsin at home.

The Maryland Terrapins face off against The Wisconsin Badgers inside of Xfinity Center looking for revenge. The Terps are coming off one of their tougher performances of the year against now number 1 ranked Purdue. In the second half of the game, the Terps showed the most grit and fight that we have seen from them in a long, long time. After being outscored 35-21 in the first half, Coach Willard was able to fire the team up for the second half, as they outscored Purdue 34-23 and had a real chance to win the game on Sunday. This second half showed a lot of promise for the Terps and as a fan, you should feel encouraged about this team, although the record doesn’t quite shine yet.

The Wisconsin Badgers are coming off of a road loss on Wednesday night to Northwestern. The game was delayed due to Covid, and so they played on Monday, leaving them with only one off day, compared to the Terp’s two. Wisconsin got the best of the Terps earlier in the season, beating them by 5 at home. This time though, they have to come into a packed Xfinity Center, centering around a black out theme tonight. With all of the student tickets being sold out, this environment should really favor the Terps and leave them with a chance to really show what they are made of.

The Terps tonight, who are in need of a nice Big Ten win, need to find themselves winning the paint battle. Julian Reese is coming off a very good game, putting up 19 points against Zach Edey and Purdue. This performance by Reese was very impressive and he came to play last Sunday. Tonight, the Terps need him to do the same. If he can get the paint battle going our way, the Badgers will have a hard time guarding the Terps on the perimeter, leaving them with some much needed open looks. The Terps went 3/21 on Sunday from the 3 point line, struggling once again this season behind the arc. Tonight, they could really use some promising looks, getting some to fall in the hoop early should lead to some much needed confidence and hopefully get the offense going.

In the second half of the Purdue game, the Terps were moving a very fast pace offense, which proved to be a real weapon and worked out great for them. Tonight, they should look to do the same, they were a totally different team when they ran with tempo, and controlling the pace of the game is something they should really look to do, especially with the home crowd behind them. The Badgers love to run a pick and roll offense to get shooters like Wahl and Davis some open looks. If the Terps can be smart and guard this to the best of their ability, the Badgers will struggle to find their offense, favoring the Terps big time.

Tonight, the Terps have a chance to get a nice home win, as they open up a 3 game home stretch. They face off at 7 pm tonight on Big Ten Network, Go Terps!
