The Maryland Terrapins host Minnesota in hopes of a bounce back win.

The Maryland Terrapins play host to the Minnesota Gophers in a Big Ten matchup tonight at Xfinity Center. For the Terps, they are looking to bounce back after coming off of a tough overtime loss Sunday to Nebraska. The Gophers are struggling, losing ten in a row, and their last win coming over a month ago in early January.

The Terps saw themselves with a lead on Sunday against Nebraska after battling back from an 8 point deficit in the second half. After leading by 5 going into the under 4, Nebraska was able to go on a run and force overtime. In overtime, the Terp’s never looked really comfortable, and ended up dropping the game, which as we get closer to March, doesn’t help their seeding much, especially after a big win against Purdue earlier in the week.

The last time these two teams faced off, the Terps won in blowout fashion on the road, winning 81-46. This 35 point win was their largest road win in program history in the Big Ten and they will look to try and repeat a performance similar to that one tonight at home. Dating back to that earlier game, Julian Reese led the way with 16 points, along with Jahmir Young at 14, and Dontae Scott coming in with 13 points.

The earlier win against Minnesota was some of the best basketball Maryland has played all year. They shot 52 percent from the field and 42 percent from three, both of these numbers were quite high.

Tonight, the Terps look to bounce back and find themselves in the win column once again. As easy as this should be, nothing comes easy in the Big Ten. With any kind of shooting performance similar to the first matchup, the Terps will find themselves on cruise control and can possibly rest some of their starters, which becomes more and more important as we inch closer to March.

The Terps square off against Minnesota at 9 pm eastern tonight. Go Terps!
