Terps MacFarland and Leake to enter draft, leave Maryland

Maryland running backs Anthony McFarland and Javon Leake have declared for the NFL draft after another disappointing Terps season.

McFarland a redshirt sophomore has proven to be NFL ready, and Leake has decided today to forgo his senior for draft as well. Both running backs where one of the best dynamic duos the Terps have ever had and had a combined 2,12 yards and 14 touchdowns this past season.

Continuing my football career to the NFL has been a lifelong dream of mine. I am proud to say I will in fact fulfill this dream Thank you Terp Nation, you all mean the world to me. Now, it’s time for me to begin a new chapter!” Leake write on Twitter earlier today.

With six Terps already transferring out of the program it was an easy decision for the both of them to move and get paid in the NFL. McFarland could easily be a first to second round pick in this years draft while Leake could be a third to fourth round pick. We thank you both for your service good luck in the NFL.
