Terps Host Wisconsin Tomorrow

Maryland is back at the XFINITY Center hoping to end this tough losing stretch as of late.  The Terps have to be almost flawless to finish out the year, and it all starts tomorrow with Wisconsin coming to College Park.

Bruno Fernando was back to the old Bruno in the loss to Purdue.  Fernando put up his second double-double of the year with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Kevin Huerter finished with 16, Darryl Morsell with 13, and Anthony Cowan Jr. had 11.  Maryland took Purdue all the way down but the lack of bench depth took another key win away from the Terps.

Wisconsin is led by junior big Ethan Happ who is posting 17.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg, and 4 apg.  Freshman Brad Davison has been the go-to man at the guard position however, averaging 11 points, 2 boards and 2 assists per contest. Those are the only two Badgers averaging double-digit scoring this year, but they also have D’Mitrik Trice, Khalil Iverson, and Brevin Pritzl who are all about a bucket away from that 10 point average.  (9.4, 9.3, 8.7 respectively).

This is the only meeting scheduled in Big Ten play between the two teams.  Wisconsin leads the all-time record at 4-7.  Maryland is also 5-5 all-time when they play on Super Bowl Sunday.  The last win the Terrapins picked up on Super Bowl Sunday was in 2010 against North Carolina.  The Terps took that one big, 92-71.

This is another game the Terrapins must win.  Wisconsin sits at 10-14 and 3-8 on the season. Maryland has a chance to, not pick up a key win, but start adding W’s to make that record look a whole lot better for the selection committee.

Tip is set for 1pm on CBS.
