Greetings avid readers of The Maryland Sports Blog, effective as of last night, my Baltimore Ravens talk show (The Black and Purple Report), as heard on www.blogtalkradio.com/jsilberman, Stitcher Radio (an app for SmartPhones and Ipads) and iTunes, has teamed up with this site to bring you all the latest Baltimore Ravens coverage.
The shows typically airs Friday’s from 5-6 p.m., Saturday’s from 12-1 p.m. and Sunday’s two hours up until Ravens kick-off, as myself and Daniel Radov broadcast live each and every week from Tommy’s Downtown Tavern, which is located just three-blocks away from M&T Bank Stadium at 839 W. Cross and Hamburg Street.
Here’s just a little summary about the show and what we’re all about:
This is a show by a fan for the fans. We are hard-hitting, insightful, opinionated and aren’t afraid to hold back from whats on our mind. Engaging with our listeners is something we value and were always open to taking your calls. If you feel the need to chime in and vent to us, please feel free to do so, 661-244-9802 is our call-in number.
Some of our past guests, among others have included: The radio voice of the Baltimore Ravens, and WBAL-11 Sports Director, Gerry Sandusky; CBS Sports color analyst, Solomon Wilcots; Pro Football Weekly’s, Mike Wilkening; 1570 WNST’s Luke Jones; The Baltimore Sun’s, Matt Vensel and 105.7 The Fan’s, Jerry Coleman.
Something that is customary from our program is that we like to engage with media members from the opposing team’s side each and every week to help us breakdown and preview the Ravens’ matchup.
For today’s show, Brady Henderson, Editor of 710Sports.com and ESPN 710, stops by at 5:10 p.m. to discuss week-10′s Ravens-Seahawks matchup. Topics to be discussed include: Seattle’s disappointing 2-6 first half of the season, the mindset of Seattle coming into Sunday’s game and what the Seahawks must do if they have any hope of upsetting the Ravens.
Also, I’ll be reflecting back on the week that was for the Baltimore Ravens, which was headlined by a fourth-quarter comeback orchestrated by QB Joe Flacco in Pittsburgh giving the Ravens a 23-20 victory, and their first sweep of the Pittsburgh Steelers since the 2006 season.
Showtime is scheduled for 5 p.m. and we will be live until 6 p.m. Please feel free to give us a holler at 661-244-9802.
