Survive and Advance: Terps Beat Cornell in Thriller

The NCAA Tournament is the most exciting time of the year in any collegiate sport. Maryland and Cornell showed why on Saturday afternoon, as the Terps scored with 2 seconds left to defeat the Big Red 8-7.

Cornell got off to a quick start, as the Big Red scored four unanswered goals to get a quick lead. Mike Chanenchuk scored Maryland’s first goal in the middle of the second quarter, but that is all the Terps could get in the first half. Loyola's Season Ends With Loss to Albany

Loyola’s remarkable season ended early on Saturday, as Albany defeated the Hounds 13-6 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

After two quick goals by the Great Danes, Pat Laconi scored the first goal for the Greyhounds. After thee more Albany goals, Romar Dennis and Nikko Pontrello scored back to back for the Greyhounds to cut the lead to 5-3. In the third quarter, Laconi struck again for his second goal of the day. Justin Ward also chipped in two goals for the home team.
