Ravens report card: The defense and special teams 9/7/2014

20140728-154057-56457968.jpgThe Baltimore Ravens lost against the Cincinnati Bengals 23-16. For the report card on the offense go here. (I apologize for having the report card up so late.)

Defensive line: The defensive line played very well but still needed to get more pressure on Andy Dalton.  The Ravens did not record a single sack and only had one tackle for loss. DeAngelo Tyson and Chris Canty were the most impressive on the defensive line. Haloti Ngata only had two tackles and was out of a lot of plays. The defensive line did help shut down the Bengals’ running game, giving up only three yards per carry.  Grade B Read more about Ravens report card: The defense and special teams 9/7/2014

Ravens report card: The offense 9/7/2014

20140711-232836-84516884.jpgThe Baltimore Ravens lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 23 to 16 and the offense struggled greatly in the first half of the game. The Ravens debut of the Gary Kubiak offense did not go as planned.

Quarterbacks: Joe Flacco’s numbers were not great and he was not helped by his receivers. Flacco had two big mistakes: getting sacked before the half and his bad interception. He simply didn’t seem to be on the same page as his receivers. Flacco’s final numbers were: 35 for 62 with a touchdown, an interception and a quarterback rating of 71.0.  Grade C+ Read more about Ravens report card: The offense 9/7/2014

Quarterback:  Joe Flacco did not have much left in the tank and Tyrod Taylor was warming up several times.  It was hard to watch Flacco take hit after hit after he was already injured.  Flacco completed 30 out of his 50 passes with three interceptions and one touchdown.  Grade C
