Before you go and say that your favorite prospect should be starting for the major league club, think about a few things first. Numbers like batting averages, slugging percentage and on-base percentage don’t always give someone a good inclination about how a prospect will do in the major leagues. Numbers aren’t everything.
When the Baltimore Orioles placed Matt Wieters on the disabled list they made a tough decision to call up Caleb Joseph and option Steve Clevenger. Joseph had never played at the Major League level and looked lost swinging the bat. Joseph did however play outstanding defense and really helped turn the Orioles starting pitching around.

The Baltimore Orioles have a lot of similar hitters, Nelson Cruz, Steve Pearce and Delmon Young are all right handed outfielders with power bats and limited defensive skills. I have gone over each players strengths and weaknesses before.
