Skipjacks Down The River Hawks

Chesapeake College(5-11) came out hot and finished strong over the River Hawks of Anne Arundel Community College 104-59. Going into the night the Skipjacks knew this was a must win game after a tough stretch of close losses. The River hawks came out and kept it close early on but with 10:45 left in the first half Chesapeake took over and went on a 37-15 run to go into halftime with a 55- 30 lead.

The Skipjacks did not let up in the second and cursed to a much-needed victory. Chesapeake finished with 25 assists and only 10 turnovers in the win. Four of the Skipjacks finished in double digits with Thomas Agnew Jr leading the way with a line of 21-8-5. To match up with Agnew Jr, Anthony Tate Jr had a nice day with 20-4-9. This duo in the back court is strong and challenged the River Hawks defense all night. To go along with the strong duo of the Jrs, Power Forward Terehk Agnew pulled down a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.

The Peake was moving the ball on offense at will and would not be denied. Every player on the Skipjacks scored at least 5 points on the night. This is what head coach Allen Mitchell has been looking for all year is the bench showing up strong.

Moving on Chesapeake will play next against Cecil College at home Friday night.
