Showalter wins AL Manager of the Year

The Baltimore Orioles have got some recognition to go along with their 96 win season.  The Vice President Dan Duquette won executive of the year yesterday and tonight it was announced that Buck Showalter has been named the 2014 AL Manager of the Year.  Adam Jones, Nick Markakis and JJ Hardy also won Gold Gloves this season.

Showalter managed the Orioles to the ALCS despite losing three key players, Matt Wieters, Manny Machado and Chris Davis.  Showalter has had a knack for finding the right player for the right spot and reviving players that no other team has given a chance.

Showalter has now won three Manager of the Year awards and all of them have been well deserved.  Congratulations to Showalter and the Orioles.  The Orioles may have fallen just short of a World Series appearance but Showalter’s managing was masterful.
