Sessions Signed to 10 Day Contract, Could Debut Tonight

Despite my advice that the Wizards sign Derrick Rose, they signed Ramon Sessions to a 10-day contract two days ago. Sessions did not play the same day he was signed against the Hornets, but he could make his debut tonight versus the 76ers.

The fact that Sessions was signed to a 10 day contract indicates that the Wizards are unsure of how he will perform. They will keep tabs on his play tonight, Tuesday versus the Bucks, Wednesday versus the Warriors, Friday versus the Raptors, and Sunday versus the Pacers. Throughout that stretch, Sessions’ defense will be tested, as he will have to guard All-Star point guards Stephen Curry and Kyle Lowry.

After 10 days, the Wizards will re-evaluate and either extend Sessions’ contract or not, which would leave him as a free agent. Now with both Satoransky and Tim Frazier back from injury, it is possible that the Wizards will not need him going forward, but he could be an improvement over Frazier. Time will tell.
