Robert Griffin Signs one-Year Deal with the Baltimore Ravens

Former Heismen Trophy winner Robert Griffin aka RGIII has signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens. He has not played since playing for the Cleveland Browns in 2016, but he has stayed in shape since, and will be given a chance to be Joe Flacco’s backup this season.

The former second overall pick in 2012 was supposed to be the Washington Redskins franchise quarterback, and looked to be it after winning rookie of the year in 2012. He was later demoted to be a backup with the rise of Kurt Cousins after a series of knee injuries.

He hasn’t played since getting cut from the Cleveland Browns in 2016 when he was part of there disaster quarterback cycle in a season they couldn’t win a single game.

Griffin is only 28 years old, and still has a lot of potential to be a quarterback in the league. He’s going to have to compete for the backup roll against Josh Woodrum, and if the Ravens decide to draft a quarterback as well.

Griffin Carter stats are 42 touchdowns with 26 interceptions with a passer rate of 88. The speedy quarterback also has 1,670 rushing yards to his resume as well.
