The Washington Redskins have traded their 2018 sixth-round pick(188th overall) to the Clevland Browns in exchange for QB Kevin Hogan and the Browns 2018 sixth-round pick (205th overall) which was acquired from the Patriots in the trade for Jason McCourty.
Hogan was the Kansas City Chiefs fifth-round pick in the 2016 draft. The Chiefs released Hogan prior to the start of the season, and then he signed with Cleveland’s practice squad.
Hogan has played eight games for the Browns over the past two seasons, but he only has one start which was last year in a Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans.
Hogans Career Stats
621 Passing Yards
4 Passing Touchdowns
6.1 Yards Per Pass Attempt
Hogan will most likely provide insurance behind Alex Smith and Colt McCoy. It’s not likely that Hogan takes the spot from McCoy. Hogan has two veteran QB’s in-front of him in hopes to shape Hogan into a NFL starter.
With the addition of Hogan, the Redskins chances of getting a QB in the draft is very slim.
