Redskins sign Peyton Barber

The Washington Redskins have signed running back Peyton Barber to a two year deal worth $300 million with $600k guaranteed.

In his early years Barber played at Milton High School rushing for 1,700 yards and 22 touchdowns in his senior year alone. After graduating high school Barber enrolled into Auburn University where he played two seasons totaling 1,071 Yards for 13 touchdowns. After only two seasons with Auburn, Barber declared for the 2016 NFL Draft.   After not being drafted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Barber just to be released for final roster cuts. The following day the Buccaneers signed barber to the practice squad where he didn’t see playing time until the week 12 of the season. After four seasons with the Buccaneers Barber joined the free agent market where he was soon signed by the Redskins.

The Redskins have been adding a lot of depth to the running back position this off season and of course not everyone is here to stay but it will definitely be a competitive run in preseason to see who can keep their position and who will lead the position next season. The running back position hasn’t been the only focus of Ron Rivera and the Redskins recently as they also traded quaterback Kyle Allen from the panthers recently so I think we have much more to see in this off season with the Redskins.
