Redskins Re-sign Ty Nsekhe

The Washington Redskins have re-signed tackle Ty Nsekhe, the team announced the re-signing on Monday. Details on the contract have yet to be released.

The 6-foot-8, 338 pounder began his football career in the Arena Football League (AFL) when he was selected by the Corpus Christi Sharks back in 2009. Nsekhe’s time with the Sharks ended after three years, when he signed with the Indianapolis Colts on August 1, 2012.

The Colts decided to release Nsekhe just a month later. Shortly after being released by the Colts, Nsekhe signed with the then-St. Louis Rams on September 2, 2012, where he played one season.

In 2015, Nsekhe finally found a home in Washington. Nsekhe started two games for the Redskins in 2015. The 2016 season, Nsekhe appeared in all 16 regular season games for the first time in his career with four starts.

In 2017, Nsekhe appeared in 11 games with a career-high five starts. Nsekhe missed five mid-season games with a core muscle injury.

The 32 year-old veteran joins Trent Williams, Morgan Moses , T.J. Clemmings, and Orlando Franklin as the Washington Redskins offensive tackles.
