Redskins’ Hopkins Returns to Practice

Redskins Kicker Dustin Hopkins returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since October, when he was placed on Injured Reserve. Hopkins has been dealing with a hip rotator strain since Week 4, but played through it until Week 6 when he realized he needed time to heal. Hopkins could return by the end of the season.

Before being placed on IR, Hopkins was nine for 11 on FGs and 12 for 12 on XPs. In Hopkins’ place, Nick Rose has done a similar job, going 10 for 11 on FGs and 18 for 20 on XPs. Whether or not Hopkins will immediately resume his role as first string kicker over Rose is unclear.
