Redskins First Round Draft Preview

Throughout the offseason, there has been lots of chatter about what the Redskins will be doing with their number 2 overall pick. There have been rumors of them trading down, picking a quarterback and drafting Chase Young. Now that we’re at draft day, the picture of what they are planning to do seems to be a little more clear.

All signs in the past days have pointed towards the Skins drafting DeMatha alumni Chase Young. Young is considered to be one of the best pass-rushing prospects of all time, accumulating 16.5 sacks in his junior season. I think that Young is a lock for the Skins and an obvious choice who would give the Redskins one of the best young front sevens in the league.

At this point however, I don’t think that who the Redskins draft will be the biggest question of the day. Rather, peole are asking what will they do with Trent Williams. Williams is one of the top Tackles in the league and held out last season after a debacle with the team training staff. There are infinite questions about what will happen with Williams, and if he will still be a Redskin by the end of the night. If not, then I find it very likely that he will be gone by the end of the draft.
