Redskins Draft Safety Troy Apke

The third and final day of the 2018 NFL Draft was today and the Washington Redskins drafted Penn State Safety Troy Apke in the fourth-round (109th overall).

If there is one thing you should know about the Redskins new safety it’s that he is very athletic. Apke blew up the 2018 NFL Combine where he ran a 4.34 second 40-yard dash and had a 41-inch vertical jump. After Apke completed his 40-yard dash, NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders came up and hugged the speedster.

The Redskins drafting Apke in the fourth-round seems a bit of a reach due to the fact that he only started one out of his three seasons at Penn State. Apke played special teams and provided depth at safety for the Nattany Lions.

The Redskins passed on multiple big name players in the fourth-round for Apke and many seem skeptical about the pick. Well see if Redskins DB coach Torrian Gray can work some same magic on Apke.
