Redskins Blown Away 24-0 in Season Closer

Everyone knew that the Redskins had been eliminated from playoffs but that did not mean go out and end the season in the most embarrassing manner. Yesterday the Washington Redskins were blown completely away 24-0 by their division rivals the Philadelphia Eagles.

In the four quarters the Redskins were just unable to get anything going, Josh Johnson (QB) threw 12-27 for 91 yards with one interception and 4 sacks while Chris Thompson (RB) carried twice for ten yards. Josh Doctson (WR) was only able to pull in two receptions for 33 yards.

To start the game literally 6 seconds in Johnson threw his one and only interception of the game which of course shifted momentum to the Eagles. The Redskins quickly shifted that momentum with 10:48 left in the first quarter as Deshazor Everett (SS) intercepted Nick Foles (QB). Although the shift in momentum the Redskins were unable to get anything going as they played a punt game with the eagles until 6:20 left in the first quarter when the eagles kicked a field goal putting them in the lead by 3.

The eagles possessed the ball for majority of second quarter resulting in a touchdown which became the story of the game the Redskins played punts while the Eagles played touchdowns finally bringing the painful game to an 24-0 end.

Although they were blown away the Redskins had great plays here and there one highlight being punter Tress Way throwing a fake punt pass to convert for a first down, its not everyday you hear about a punter playing quarterback.

Its been a rough season for the Redskins starting strong holding first place in NFC East and then losing two quarterbacks not to forget losing half of the O-line during the season, injuries have taken the best and worst of the redskins and sent them tumbling down to ending 7-9 for the season.
