Recap: Nats Fall to D-Backs 5-2

The Nationals fall to the Diamondbacks Sunday losing 5-2, splitting the series at two. The Diamondbacks were given a productive start from Madison Bumgarner going five strong giving two hits, giving up one run. Paolo Espino made his season debut giving the Nats a good start going 4.1IP 5H 2ER 3K’s.

The Nats offense was carried by Trea Turner who smashed two home runs. Giving Turner his second and third on the year. The Nats struggled to produced any other offense. The Nats offense scattered six hits, while the D-Backs produced eleven hits including two home runs.

The Nats will open up a new three game series against the St. Louis Cardinals tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled at 7:05PM. The Nats will be sending out Joe Ross, while the Cardinals will be sending out their ace Jack Flaherty.
