Recap: Nationals lose to Pirates, 6-3

The Washington Nationals lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night in regular season action. The Nats’ record now stands at 6-6. The Pirates record is now 7-5.

Patrick Corbin pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Corbin allowed 11 strikeouts and 4 hits while pitching. Kyle Barraclough struggled while pitching 2 innings and had 1 hit and 2 strikeouts.

Offensively, the long ball ruled for Washington. Belting out home runs as a team by Anthony Rendon.

Defensively, the bottom of the 8th had the most action as Anthony Rendon homered his second of the game. In the middle of the second inning, Corbin reached on an infield single to shortstop and Ryan Zimmerman scored.

Tomorrow the Nationals will face the Pittsburgh Pirates for game 2 of the series at Nationals Park at 4:05pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Anibal Sanchez.
