Recap: Georgetown Dominates Late Against Liberty in 88-78 Win

The Georgetown Hoyas defeated the Liberty Flames by a score of 88-78. Now, Georgetown stands at a 7-1 win-loss record, while Liberty dropped to 7-2. Georgetown is currently 2nd in the Big East conference, behind St. John’s who are undefeated through seven games at 7-0.

Statistically, guard, James Akinjo, led the Hoyas in scoring with 19 points, shooting 6-10 from the field, along with two rebounds. Darius McGhee led the Flames in scoring with 19 points, and he recorded two rebounds. Georgetown shot 52.7% from the field, while Liberty shot 42.3% from the field. Adding on, the Hoyas an impressive 61.1% from the three-point line, while the Flames went 36.1% from long distance.

Overall, the Hoyas and Flames played competitive basketball, but it was Georgetown that would have a late run to eventually win the game. Next, Georgetown will face the Syracuse Orange on Saturday, December 8th, at 3:30 PM on ESPN.
