Ravens trade kicker/punter Vedvik to Vikings
The Baltimore Ravens have traded kicker/punter Kaare Vedvik to the Minnesota Vikings for a fifth round pick, according to Adam Schefter. The Ravens brought in Vedvik to be an extra leg last preseason.
Before last season started Vedvik was assaulted in Baltimore and was placed on injured reserve.
Vedvik is a rare kicker that can be a place kicked and a punter that can save a team a roster spot. The Ravens however have no need for a third kicker as Justin Tucker is one of the best kickers in the history of football. Punter Sam Koch has been a career Raven and is also one of the best in the league at his position.
Here is Schefter’s tweet about the trade.
Trade: Ravens are sending kicker Kaare Vedvik to Minnesota in exchange for a 2020 5th-round draft pick, per league source. Vikings could wind up using Vedvik as their kicker and punter.
