Ravens Sign Third-Round Pick Miles Boykin to Rookie Contract

Yesterday, the Baltimore Ravens signed Miles Boykin to a rookie contract, becoming the last of the 2019 rookie class to do so. In April, the Ravens used their second third-round pick on Boykin(93rd overall), investing in a quick wide out that can help the Ravens offense spread the field. Boykin, 22, spent four years in college playing wide receiver for the university of Notre Dame.

Boykin tallied 77 receptions, 1,206 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns in four years at Notre Dame, before being selected by Baltimore. Of those 11 career touchdowns while in college, Boykin collected 8 in his senior year at Notre Dame. Adding on, the former Fighting Irish pass catcher obtained 872 receiving yards of off 59 receptions in his senior year.

Boykin will now add to the fast-moving offense of the Ravens, with the likes of Lamar Jackson, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, and Justice Hill. The 22-year old’s ability to move quick with an offense was proven by his unofficial 4.42 forty-yard dash. Look for offensive coordinator Greg Roman to implement Boykin in reverse plays, and potentially even screens to have the chance of creating a big play off of YAC.

Next, the Ravens veterans will report to training camp on July 25th, being the days of the first official team practice of the 2019-2020 season.
