Ravens sign RB Forsett

File:Justin Forsett (cropped).jpgThe Baltimore Ravens have signed running back Justin Forsett to a one-year deal.  Forsett is a six-year NFL veteran and will likely provide depth for the Ravens.

The Ravens are still unsure what will happen with Ray Rice as he will probably face discipline from the NFL because of his arrest earlier this offseason.  Last season, the Ravens running backs had trouble with injuries and running the ball.

I still think the Ravens need to draft a big running back.

Here is the Ravens press release.

RAVENS SIGN RB JUSTIN FORSETT

The Baltimore Ravens have signed RB Justin Forsett to a one-year deal, general manager/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Friday.

Forsett, 28, is a six-year NFL veteran who has appeared in 87 career games (seven starts) with four different teams. A 5-8, 194-pounder, he has played with Seattle (2008-11), Indianapolis (2008), Houston (2012) and Jacksonville (2013), recording 347 carries for 1,692 yards (4.9 avg.) and eight touchdowns.

Originally selected by Seattle in the seventh-round of the 2008 NFL Draft (California), Forsett has also compiled 115 receptions for 850 yards and one touchdown.

Forsett’s best season came in 2009 with the Seahawks when he posted 114 rushes for 619 yards and four touchdowns, adding 41 receptions for 350 yards and one score. Last season in his only year with the Jaguars, he appeared in nine games before being placed on Injured Reserve (foot).
