Ravens Set to Host Preseason Practices with Commanders

The Baltimore Ravens will host the Washington Commanders at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills for two joint practices ahead of their week two preseason matchup. The two practices are set to take place on August 15th and 16th, with the preseason game set for August 21st at FedEx field, home of the Commanders.

The Ravens and Head Coach John Harbaugh have regularly scheduled joint practices during the preseason. This will be the third time the Ravens have ever hosted a joint practice as they welcomed the San Francisco 49ers in 2014, the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019. The Raven have also been hosted by three different teams as they visited the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 and 2019, Indianapolis in 2018, and the Carolina Panthers in 2021.

Joint practices can be good for teams as it allows players to play against someone on a different team during the tough weeks on training camp, and most importantly it allows coaches to evaluate their own players against other competition in a practice setting.

For the Ravens it will be unlikely that many starters see the field during the preseason, but with a joint practice it will give starters an opportunity to play like it’s a game as they won’t truly have that opportunity until week one against the Houston Texans.

The two joint practices are set to be open to the public, as the Ravens hold several public practices throughout the duration of training camp.
