Ravens report card week 2: the offense
Quarterback– Joe Flacco looked sharp at times but other times he looked like he was forcing throws. Flacco’s final numbers were not pretty, he only completed 22-42 passes. His final quarterback rating was 66.8. Flacco turned the ball over twice, one on a bad interception that he should not have thrown. Grade C-
Running Backs– Ray Rice ran for 99 yards and probably should have carried the ball more. Most of Rice’s yards came from a huge 43-yard carry. Rice was also a presence in the passing game, compiling six receptions for 53 yards. Vonta Leach scored a touchdown and blocked well. Grade B
Receivers– The receivers were blanked most of the game. The wide receivers totaled six receptions and one touchdown. Tight end Dennis Pitta was Flacco’s go-to man, Pitta had eight receptions for 65 yards. The receivers looked like they lacked separation, give credit to the Eagles defensive backs. Tandon Doss had his first career reception. Grade C
Offensive line– The offensive line opened up some huge wholes in the run game and only allowed two sacks but could have preformed better. Flacco rushed a lot of throws because he was under pressure and got hit hard. The first offensive play of the game for the Ravens Michael Oher got beat and it led to a Joe Flacco fumble. Grade C+
Overall– The offense had way too many three and outs. It looked like they went away from the no huddle offense for a while and slowed the game down. The play calling was a little off. Grade C
