Ravens report card: The offense 9/11/2014

IMG_0770.JPGThe Baltimore Ravens beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 26 to 6 Thursday night but the score doesn’t even indicate how bad the Ravens pushed the Steelers around. The Ravens dominated on both defense and offense.

Quarterback: Joe Flacco played lights out. Flacco went 4 for 4 with a touchdown on his first drive and didn’t look back the rest of the game. Flacco completed 21 of his 29 passes with two touchdowns, no turnovers and finished with a 109.3 quarterback rating.  Grade A

Running backs: The Ravens’ running backs played well in the absence of Ray Rice. Bernard Pierce was four yards shy of 100 yards on the ground and Justin Forsett averaged seven yards per carry. Forsett and Pierce also combined for five receptions.  Grade A

Receivers: Steve Smith, Sr. has taken over as the Ravens’ number one target. Smith, Sr. had seven receptions for 71 yards and broke a handful of tackles. Owen Daniels had five receptions, including two touchdowns and Dennis Pitta also had three receptions. Torrey Smith and Marlon Brown have yet to get very involved in the offense as Flacco is targeting his tight ends and Smith, Sr. over his other wide receivers.  Grade A

Offensive line: The best game this offensive line has played in years. The offense line dominated the Steelers’ defensive line and didn’t allow a single quarterback hit. The run game had tons of holes as well.  Grade A+

Overall: A great all-around game by the Ravens’ offense. A few more touchdowns would’ve been nice, but dominating the Steelers’ defense is no easy task.  Grade A
