Ravens Report Card: 12/9/2018

The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 27 to 24 in Overtime.

Quarterback:  Both Lamar Jackson and RGIII saw some playing time.  Jackson had some good moments but only completing 13 out of 24 passes against one of the leagues worst defenses is not good.  Jackson also fumbled a ball that was taken back for a touchdown.  Jackson lead the Ravens in rushing yards and had two passing touchdowns.  Grade C

Running backs:  Gus Edwards continues to get the work load.  Kenneth Dixon played very well averaging 7.4 yards per carry on eight rushes.  Grade B

Receivers:  Willie Snead lead the Ravens in receptions and yards with five receptions for 61 yards.  John Brown and Michael Crabtree had touchdowns.  Maxx Williams was the only tight end with a reception.  This unit played well.  Grade B

Offensive Line: This unit allowed three sacks in which Jackson did not have a chance.  Other than that this unit continues to play well.  Grade B

Overall Offense:  This unit needed to put up more points against one of the worst defenses in the league.  Grade C

Defensive line:  The Ravens sacked Patrick Mahomes three times and really brought pressure.  This unit also help hold the Chiefs rushing attack to 94 yards.  Grade B

Linebackers:  C.J. Mosley got beat several times this game but was in some miss matches.  The Ravens linebackers still have trouble in coverage.  Grade C

Secondary:  This unit played well against one of the best offenses in the league.  Eric Weddle got beat several times.  This unit allowed 377 yards through the air.  Grade C

Overall Defense:  Keeping the Chiefs to only 27 points is good but the Ravens would have won if they had some clutch stops.  Grade C

Special Teams:  The Ravens have someone in Cyrus Jones.  Special teams is the Raven strongest unit.  Grade A

Coaching Staff:  The Ravens were well prepared and nearly pulled a huge upset on the road in a hostile environment.  Grade B

Final Thoughts:  Joe Flacco should be the starter when he is ready to return.  the Ravens are playing way to conservatively with Jackson.
