Ravens place Jimmy Smith on IR promote Jean-Baptiste

The Baltimore Ravens have placed Jimmy Smith on injured reserve and have promoted cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste to the active roster. The Ravens have also signed cornerback Robertson Daniel to the practice squad.

Smith is currently serving a four-game suspension and will continue to serve it while injured. Smith injured his achilles in the Detroit Lions game and will be out for the remainer of the season.

Jean-Baptiste is a former second round pick of the New Orleans Saints.  Jean-Baptiste has only played in four NFL games.

Here is the Ravens tweet regarding the transaction.
