Ravens Linebacker, Jaylon Ferguson Passes Away at 26

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson has died at the age of 26, the Ravens announced the news early Wednesday morning.

Given the nickname “Sack Daddy” at Louisiana Tech after recording 45 career sacks in four seasons, becoming the NCAA FBS all-time career sack leader.

Drafted by the Ravens with the 85th pick in 2019 out of Louisiana Tech, Ferguson played in a total of 38 games for the Ravens over three seasons. Ferguson started in nine games his rookie season recording 2.5 sacks to go along with 31 combined tackles. Over his three seasons Ferguson totaled 4.5 career sacks, 67 total tackles. 17 quarterback hits, and two pass deflections.

Ferguson was entering the final year of his rookie contract heading into 2022, and was looking to have his best season as he entered into his fourth season. Ferguson reported to all the Ravens OTA sessions over the last month with many around the team expressing how Ferguson looked like he had lost weight and looked quicker and more athletic.

Ferguson is survived by his son and daughter.
