Ravens Hire New QB Coach
Today it was announced that the Baltimore Ravens hired a new quarterback coach; James Urban.
Urban previously was the Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers coach for the past seven seasons. Prior to that he was the quarterback coach for the Philadelphia Eagles for seven years.
Urban is another branch of the Harbaugh coaching tree, working with him for five seasons back in Philadelphia. He also worked with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg for four years there, with two of them as the quarterbacks coach.
The new hire is supposedly to help quarterback Joe Flacco with his mechanics. Flacco has had a history of throwing off his back foot. In my opinion, he does it out of fear from his knee injury back in 2015.
Hopefully Urban can bring Flacco back to his elite levels and make January Joe a year round spectacle.
