Ravens cut Maclin

The Baltimore Ravens have cut wide receiver Jeremy Maclin to clear up $5 million in salary cap space.  Maclin had a dispointing first year with the Ravens.

Maclin was supposed to be the Ravens number one receiver but was injured.  Maclin only had 440 yards and three touchdowns.  The Ravens just signed wide receivers Ryan Grant and John Brown so it was obvious that Maclin would get cut.

The Ravens need to rebuild their receiving core and have already started.  Losing an injury prone receiver at the end of his career will not hurt the Ravens.

The Ravens should still draft a wide receiver in the NFL draft as their are loads of talent and the Ravens are still missing a number one guy.

Here is the Ravens tweet on the transaction.
