Ravens come from all over
The Baltimore Ravens play in their first game outside of the United States ever this Sunday. The Ravens will be playing a road game in London and a lot of Ravens fans have made the trip to support them.
At MSB our Twitter account has a wide range of fans and one of our followers happens to be from England. Harry Landymore has been a Ravens fan since 2013.
Landymore was kind enough to talk to us about his love of football and the Ravens and give us some insight on sports culture in London. Sunday will be Landymore’s first NFL game. Landymore does not get to watch many Ravens games because not many are broadcast there. A similar situation with how the Ravens rarely get prime time games.
I know we talk about the Ravens getting disrespected and it effects fans all over the world.
In our talk I told Landymore about how football fans tailgate. The culture is very different but Landymore seemed excited as I told him to get to the game a few hours early because hopefully all the Baltimore fans will be out their tailgating it up.
Landymore said that out of his friends he is the only NFL fan but the NFL is growing over in London.
I personally would love an nfl team in London, however there is a lot to think about but I’m sure it would be a success as long as they find a good way to integrate them into the league, Landymore said. I love the passion of the game, the players seem blessed to be in the nfl and the teams mean everything to the fans, players play for the fans and the shirt and know how lucky they are.
I agree I think the NFL will eventually come to Europe. The NFL has experimented with it before and I think they are itching closer and closer to it. The Ravens game on Sunday will be very special for the Ravens fans like Landymore in London who get a chance go see their favorite team. It is also special for all the fans that got to take a short vacation.
Hopefully, the Ravens defence shows Europe what Ravens football is all about.
