Ramirez and Scott optioned, Armstrong added to 25-man roster

The Baltimore Orioles have made more roster moves today, as both Yefry Ramirez and Tanner Scott were optioned to Triple-A Norfolk to make room for newly acquired, Shawn Armstrong, on the 25-man roster.

Ramirez was called up for yesterday’s game against the Chicago White Sox. He did, in fact, enter the game and pitched effectively in the Orioles 5-3 loss.

Tanner Scott has been on the major league roster since April 11. In that time, Scott has made eight appearances in relief, pitching to a 6.75 ERA. He has shown signs of improvement, but still has some command issues that need to be worked out in the minors.

Shawn Armstrong will meet the club in Chicago for tonight’s game, after being claimed off waivers from Seattle. This will be his first time in an Orioles uniform, as he tries to get back on track.
